Objectives
- To bring the LARA member community together by promoting a monthly outdoor POTA activation around the various Texas State Parks surrounding the DFW Metroplex area.
- This activity also allows members that do not have HF stations or license privileges to operate on the HF bands to experience the different bands/modes by using the W5LVC call sign.
- Main objective is to HAVE FUN, enjoy the outdoors, camaraderie and make QSOs!

2/22/25 - US-4423 Spring Creek FSP - COMPLETED
Activation successful! Thank you Rick WQ5H and Colin N5GG for activating the Forest Preserve on a cold Saturday morning! From now on the weather is likely to be more conducive for outdoors activities.

3/22/25 - US-3051 Ray Roberts Lake SP - COMPLETED
Great spring day in the park! Another successful activation.
We activated 3 bands (20m, 17m, 15m) on 3 modes (CW, FT8, SSB) and netted over 50 QSOs.
Thank you Greg NE5GT, Rick N5DTF, Lynn AC5T, Sandra PU2WTY and Colin N5GG for the effort. We are already looking forward to the overnighter! Come and join the fun.

4/12/25 - US-3051 Ray Roberts Lake SP - COMPLETED
Another fantastic spring day in the park! And another activation in the bag.
LARA activated several bands using both CW and SSB and we had a lot of fun since several family members also joined us. This time we had Greg NE5GT, Rick WQ5H, Sandra PU2WTY and Colin N5GG manning the W5LVC activation. After the Saturday operation we visited with the LAARK team that was also activating the park at the same time and had a great reunion! If you missed this one, please come and join us for the May activation!
